Preparation
- In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, instant yeast, and salt until well combined.
- In another bowl, combine the warm milk, melted butter, and egg. Mix until well incorporated.
- Gradually pour the wet mixture into the dry ingredients. Stir with a wooden spoon until a shaggy dough forms.
- Transfer the dough to a lightly floured surface. Knead it for about 8 to 10 minutes until smooth and elastic. If the dough is too sticky, sprinkle a bit more flour as needed.
Rising
- Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover it with a clean kitchen towel, and let it rise in a warm area until it doubles in size—this will take about 1 hour.
- Once the dough has risen, punch it down and turn it out onto a floured surface. Divide it into 12 equal portions, rolling each into a ball.
- Place the balls on a greased baking tray, leaving space between them. Cover and let them rise again for about 30 minutes.
Baking
- While the dough is rising, preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Bake the buns in the preheated oven for about 15-20 minutes, or until golden brown on top.
- Take them out and let them cool on a wire rack for a few minutes before serving!
Notes
Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 2 days or freeze for up to three months. Reheat in a preheated oven at 350°F (175°C) for about 5-7 minutes.
