Ingredients

Dry Ingredients
  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1 packet instant yeast (2 1/4 tsp)
  • 1 tsp salt
Wet Ingredients
  • 1 cup warm milk Warm but not hot, to activate the yeast.
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 large egg

Method

Preparation
  1. In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, instant yeast, and salt until well combined.
  2. In another bowl, combine the warm milk, melted butter, and egg. Mix until well incorporated.
  3. Gradually pour the wet mixture into the dry ingredients. Stir with a wooden spoon until a shaggy dough forms.
  4. Transfer the dough to a lightly floured surface. Knead it for about 8 to 10 minutes until smooth and elastic. If the dough is too sticky, sprinkle a bit more flour as needed.
Rising
  1. Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover it with a clean kitchen towel, and let it rise in a warm area until it doubles in size—this will take about 1 hour.
  2. Once the dough has risen, punch it down and turn it out onto a floured surface. Divide it into 12 equal portions, rolling each into a ball.
  3. Place the balls on a greased baking tray, leaving space between them. Cover and let them rise again for about 30 minutes.
Baking
  1. While the dough is rising, preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Bake the buns in the preheated oven for about 15-20 minutes, or until golden brown on top.
  3. Take them out and let them cool on a wire rack for a few minutes before serving!

Notes

Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 2 days or freeze for up to three months. Reheat in a preheated oven at 350°F (175°C) for about 5-7 minutes.
