  • 1 cup powdered sugar Sift before mixing for a smoother texture.
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract Add more to taste if desired.
  • 1-2 Tablespoons heavy cream or milk Adjust for desired consistency.
  • pinch salt Optional

Preparation
  1. Ensure your butter is softened to room temperature for easy mixing.
  2. In a medium mixing bowl, beat the softened butter using an electric mixer or a whisk until it’s light and fluffy—around 1-2 minutes.
  3. Gradually add the powdered sugar to the bowl while continuing to beat, starting at a low speed to prevent a sugar cloud.
  4. Pour in the vanilla extract and mix until combined.
  5. Slowly add the heavy cream or milk, one tablespoon at a time, until you achieve your preferred consistency.
  6. Taste and adjust sweetness or flavor by adding more powdered sugar or vanilla.
  7. Spread the frosting onto your favorite baked goods and enjoy!

Notes

Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to one week. Re-beat with a splash of cream or milk if it thickens. Can be frozen for up to three months.
