Main Ingredients
  • 1 pound large shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 4 tablespoons olive oil
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes Optional for added spice.
  • to taste Salt and pepper
  • 1 lemon Juice of 1 lemon
  • 2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley For garnish.

Method

Cooking the Pasta
  1. In a large pot of salted boiling water, cook the linguine or spaghetti according to package instructions until al dente. Drain, reserving about 1/2 cup of pasta water.
Preparing the Sauce
  1. In a large skillet over medium heat, combine the butter and olive oil. Allow them to melt completely before adding the minced garlic.

  1. Add the drained pasta to the skillet, pouring in a bit of reserved pasta water to help coat the noodles. Squeeze the lemon juice over the top and toss everything to combine.
Finishing Touch
  1. Stir in freshly chopped parsley, serve immediately, and enjoy your Easy Shrimp Scampi!

Notes

If substituting shrimp, adjust cooking times for other seafood or chicken accordingly. Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3 days, adding a splash of olive oil or chicken broth when reheating.
