Fresh Vegetables
  • 1 head head of lettuce, chopped Use fresh and crisp lettuce
  • 1 cup cherry tomatoes, halved Choose ripe tomatoes for better flavor
  • 1 cup cucumber, diced Peel if desired for a milder taste
  • 1 cup green bell pepper, diced Can substitute with other bell peppers
  • 1 cup carrots, grated Adds sweetness and texture
  • 1 cup frozen peas, thawed Ensure peas are thawed before use
Dressings & Toppings
  • 1 cup mayonnaise Use as a creamy dressing for the salad
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese Add more cheese if desired
  • to taste Salt and pepper Adjust seasoning to personal preference

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Wash and chop the lettuce into bite-sized pieces.
  2. Halve the cherry tomatoes and dice the cucumber and green bell pepper.
  3. Grate the carrots and ensure the peas are thawed.
Layering
  1. In a large bowl, begin with the chopped lettuce as the base.
  2. Layer the halved cherry tomatoes evenly over the lettuce, followed by the diced cucumber.
  3. Sprinkle the green bell pepper on top of the cucumbers and follow with a generous layer of grated carrots.
  4. Add the thawed peas to create the fifth layer.
  5. Evenly spread mayonnaise over the peas as the sixth layer.
  6. Finally, top everything with shredded cheddar cheese and season with salt and pepper to your liking.
Chilling
  1. Cover the bowl and refrigerate for at least an hour before serving to allow the flavors to meld together.

Notes

Customize the layers with ingredients like olives or avocados. For convenience, pre-packaged salad greens can be used instead of chopping whole lettuce.
