Method
Preparation
- Start by bringing a pot of salted water to a rolling boil. Add the pasta and cook according to the package instructions (usually about 8-10 minutes) until al dente. Stir occasionally to prevent sticking.
- While the pasta is cooking, heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add minced garlic and sauté for 1-2 minutes until fragrant but not browned.
Combining Ingredients
- When the pasta is done, reserve about 1/2 cup of the pasta cooking water, then drain the rest. Add the drained pasta to the skillet with the garlic. Toss to coat the pasta evenly in the garlic oil.
- Gradually sprinkle in the grated Parmesan cheese while stirring. If the mixture appears too thick, add a tablespoon or two of the reserved pasta water until reaching your desired creaminess.
Finishing Touches
- Season with salt and pepper to taste. If desired, garnish with fresh parsley to add a touch of color. Serve warm and enjoy!
Notes
Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days. It can also be frozen for up to a month. Thaw in the fridge overnight and reheat gently in a skillet over low heat, adding a splash of water or milk if needed.
