Easy No-Bake Chocolate Peanut Butter Bars

Base Ingredients
  • 1 cup natural peanut butter smooth or crunchy
  • 1 cup honey or maple syrup as a sweetener
  • 2 cups rolled oats
  • 1 cup chocolate chips use dairy-free if needed
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Optional Toppings
  • to taste Chopped nuts
  • to taste Sea salt
  • to taste Shredded coconut

Method
 

Preparation
  1. In a medium saucepan over low heat, combine the natural peanut butter and honey (or maple syrup). Stir until smooth and combined, about 2-3 minutes.
  2. Remove from heat and add rolled oats and vanilla extract. Stir well until evenly coated.
  3. Line an 8x8 inch baking dish with parchment paper. Pour the oat mixture in and press down evenly.
  4. Melt chocolate chips in a microwave-safe bowl in 30-second increments, stirring in between, until smooth.
  5. Pour melted chocolate over the oat mixture and spread evenly. Add optional toppings if desired.
  6. Chill in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours until chocolate is set.
  7. Lift the bars out using the parchment paper and cut into squares or rectangles before serving.

Notes

For substitutions, almond or cashew butter can be used instead of peanut butter. Ensure all ingredients are Halal-certified.
