Ingredients

Dry Ingredients
  • 2 ½ cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • ½ tsp salt
Wet Ingredients
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened Should be at room temperature.
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
Mix-Ins
  • 2 cups chocolate chips (or your preference)
  • rainbow sprinkles (optional) For decoration.

Method

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) to ensure the cookies bake evenly.
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt. Set aside.
  3. In a large mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
  4. Beat in the eggs one at a time, followed by the vanilla extract, mixing until well combined.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, stirring until just combined.
  6. Gently fold in the chocolate chips (and sprinkles, if using) until evenly dispersed.
  7. Scoop tablespoon-sized dollops of dough onto ungreased baking sheets, leaving enough space between each cookie as they will spread.
Baking
  1. Bake in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are golden and the centers are set.
  2. Allow the cookies to cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring them to wire racks to cool completely.

Notes

Store cookies in an airtight container at room temperature for up to one week. For longer storage, freeze in a freezer-safe container for up to three months.
