Ingredients

Main Ingredients
  • 500 grams all-purpose flour For the primary structure of the loaf.
  • 60 grams sugar Adds sweetness and helps with browning.
  • 10 grams salt Enhances flavor.
  • 10 grams instant yeast To help the dough rise.
  • 280 ml warm milk Provides moisture and softness to the bread.
  • 30 grams unsalted butter Adds richness to the flavor.
  • as needed grams extra flour for dusting To prevent sticking during kneading.

Method

Preparation
  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour, sugar, salt, and yeast. Mix well, ensuring the salt and yeast do not touch directly.
  2. Make a well in the center and pour in the warm milk and softened butter. Mix until a rough dough forms.
  3. Transfer the dough onto a floured surface and knead for about 10 minutes until smooth and elastic. Add more flour if sticky.
  4. Shape the dough into a ball and place it in a lightly greased bowl. Cover with a damp cloth and let it rise in a warm place for 1 to 1.5 hours, or until doubled in size.
  5. Once risen, punch down the dough to release the air and reshape it into a loaf. Place it in a greased loaf pan.
  6. Cover again and let it rise for another 30 minutes.
  7. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Bake the loaf for 25 to 30 minutes or until golden brown and sounds hollow when tapped.
  8. Let it cool on a wire rack before slicing. Enjoy warm or toasted!

Notes

Store the loaf in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days or freeze for up to three months. Reheat in the oven for best texture.
