Preparation
- Start by cooking your rice according to package instructions. It’s the perfect base for your beef!
Cooking
- In a large skillet over medium-high heat, add the ground beef. Cook until browned, breaking it apart with a wooden spoon, about 5-7 minutes.
- Reduce the heat to medium. Once the beef is browned, drain excess grease. Keep a bit for flavor! Add the minced garlic, ginger, soy sauce, and brown sugar to the skillet. Stir everything together, letting the sugar dissolve and the flavors meld for about 2-3 minutes.
- Mix in the sesame oil and sliced green onions, reserving some green onions for garnish. Cook for another minute until everything is heated through.
Serving
- Spoon the beef mixture over your cooked rice, garnish with sesame seeds and remaining green onions, and enjoy!
Notes
Consider using ground chicken or turkey for a leaner version. Avoid overcooking the beef for it to remain juicy. Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3 days, or freeze for 2 months. Reheat in a saucepan over low heat with a splash of water if needed.
