Ingredients
  

For the Chicken
  • 2 pieces boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs For coating
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • to taste Salt and pepper
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil For frying
For the Sandwich
  • 4 pieces sandwich buns
  • to taste Lettuce For topping
  • to taste Tomato Sliced for topping
  • to taste Mayonnaise For spreading on the buns

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Place the chicken breasts between two sheets of plastic wrap and pound them to about ½ inch thick.
  3. In a shallow bowl, combine breadcrumbs, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper.
Cooking
  1. Coat each chicken breast with the breadcrumb mixture, pressing down to help it adhere.
  2. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat and cook the chicken for about 3-4 minutes on each side or until golden brown.
Assembly
  1. Slice the sandwich buns in half and toast lightly if desired.
  2. Spread mayonnaise on both sides of the buns, then top with lettuce, tomato slices, and fried chicken.
  3. Close the sandwich and serve immediately.

Notes

For a healthier version, consider using whole wheat breadcrumbs or crushed cornflakes. Ensure chicken rests post-cooking for juicier results.
