Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 450°F (230°C).
- In a large bowl, combine the flour, baking powder, and salt. Whisk together until well blended.
- Add in the cold, unsalted butter. Using a pastry cutter or your fingers, work it into the flour until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
- Pour in the milk, stirring gently until the dough comes together. Be careful not to overmix.
- Turn the dough out onto a lightly floured surface. Knead it gently for about 30 seconds.
- Using a rolling pin, roll the dough to about 1-inch thickness. Cut out biscuits using a floured cutter or a glass.
Baking
- Place the biscuits on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper and bake for 10-12 minutes, or until golden brown.
- Allow them to cool slightly and then serve warm with your favorite toppings.
Notes
Store biscuits in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to three days, or freeze them for up to two months. Reheat in a 350°F (175°C) oven for 5-7 minutes to retain texture.
