  • 1 lb ground beef Choose Halal-certified for dietary compliance.
  • 1 cup onion, chopped
  • 2 cups mixed vegetables (frozen or fresh)
  • 1 can (15 oz) diced tomatoes With juice.
  • 2 cups cooked pasta (elbow macaroni or egg noodles) Pre-cook the pasta to save time.
  • 1 cup shredded cheese (cheddar or your choice) Choose Halal-certified for dietary compliance.
Seasonings
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large skillet, cook the ground beef over medium heat until browned. Break it apart with a spatula and drain excess fat if necessary.
  3. Add the chopped onion to the skillet and sauté until translucent, about 3-4 minutes.
  4. Mix in the mixed vegetables, diced tomatoes (with juice), garlic powder, salt, black pepper, and Italian seasoning. Stir until well combined.
  5. In a large mixing bowl, combine the cooked pasta with the beef mixture and stir gently.
  6. Transfer half of the mixture into a greased 9x13 inch baking dish. Add a layer of shredded cheese, then top with the remaining mixture and sprinkle more cheese on top.
Baking
  1. Place the assembly into the preheated oven and bake for about 25-30 minutes, or until the cheese is bubbly and golden.
  2. Let it cool for a few minutes before serving.

Notes

For a lighter version, replace ground beef with ground chicken or turkey, ensuring alternatives are Halal-friendly. To store, allow to cool and refrigerate in an airtight container for up to 3 days, or freeze before baking for up to three months.
