Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a cupcake tin with paper liners.
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. Set aside.
Mixing
  1. In a large bowl, beat the softened butter and granulated sugar together until fluffy—about 3-5 minutes.
  2. Add in the eggs, buttermilk, lime juice, and tequila. Mix until thoroughly combined.
  3. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture and stir until just combined. Be careful not to overmix!
Baking
  1. Fill cupcake liners about two-thirds full with the batter.
  2. Bake for 18-20 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  3. Allow the cupcakes to cool in the pan for 5 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
Frosting
  1. Top each cupcake with a dollop of buttercream frosting and a sprinkle of sea salt for the finishing touch!

Notes

Use good-quality tequila for the best flavor. For an extra punch, add lime zest to the batter.
