Ingredients

Main Ingredients
  • 1 cup heat-treated flour Ensure flour is heat-treated to make it safe for consumption.
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened Use coconut oil for a dairy-free version.
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 1 tablespoon milk Any non-dairy option is fine.
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup chocolate chips Feel free to use any mix-ins you prefer.

Method

Preparation
  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and heat-treat the flour by spreading it on a baking sheet and baking for 5 minutes. Allow to cool.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the softened butter and brown sugar, then cream them together until smooth.
  3. Slowly add the milk and vanilla extract, mixing well until fully combined.
  4. Gradually incorporate the heat-treated flour, stirring until just combined. Avoid overmixing.
  5. Gently fold in chocolate chips or chosen mix-ins until evenly distributed.
  6. Scoop out small amounts into bowls or jars, enjoying immediately or chilling for a firmer texture.

Notes

Tip: For a chilled dough, let it rest in the fridge for 30 minutes before serving. Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 5 days, or freeze for up to 3 months.
