Preparation
- Begin by placing the boneless, skinless chicken breasts in the bottom of your crockpot. Make sure they are spread out evenly to allow for even cooking.
- Drizzle olive oil over the chicken. Then sprinkle garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper over the top. You can adjust the seasoning according to your taste.
- Pour the chicken broth into the crockpot, followed by the BBQ sauce. This combination will keep the chicken moist and flavorful.
- Cover the crockpot with its lid. Cook on low for 6-8 hours, or on high for 3-4 hours. You’ll know it’s ready when the chicken shreds easily with a fork.
- Once cooking time is up, remove the chicken from the crockpot and shred it using two forks. Return the shredded chicken back to the crockpot and mix it with the remaining sauce.
- Serve the pulled chicken on soft burger buns and add your favorite toppings.
Notes
Substitutions: Swap the BBQ sauce with a spicy sauce for a kick, or use a homemade sauce for a unique twist. Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3-4 days in the fridge or freeze in freezer-safe bags for about 3 months.
