Ingredients
  

For the pastry
  • 1 can crescent roll dough Use refrigerated crescent roll dough.
For the filling
  • 2 cups apples, peeled and diced Granny Smith or Honeycrisp recommended.
  • 1/2 cup sugar Adjust based on sweetness preference.
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1 tablespoon butter, melted For brushing on top before baking.
  • to taste powdered sugar (for dusting) Optional, for serving.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a bowl, combine your diced apples, sugar, and cinnamon. Mix well.
  3. On a clean surface, unroll the crescent roll dough and separate it into triangles.
  4. Spoon a generous amount of the apple mixture onto the wider end of each triangle.
  5. Gently roll the dough from the wide end to the tip, enclosing the apple filling. Press the edges to seal.
  6. Place the turnovers on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper and brush the tops with melted butter.
Baking
  1. Bake in the oven for about 12-15 minutes or until they are golden brown.
  2. Once cooled slightly, dust with powdered sugar before serving.

Notes

Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Unbaked turnovers can be frozen for up to 1 month.
