Ingredients
  

Main Ingredients
  • 1 lb flank steak (sliced thinly against the grain) Opt for flank steak or sirloin for optimal tenderness.
  • 2 cups broccoli florets Feel free to add bell peppers or snow peas for variation.
  • 3 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons oyster sauce
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch Used to marinate the beef.
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 2 cloves garlic (minced)
  • 1 teaspoon ginger (minced)
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil For cooking.
  • to taste salt and pepper

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Slice the flank steak into thin strips and marinate it in a mixture of 1 tablespoon of soy sauce and 1 tablespoon of cornstarch for about 15 minutes.
Cooking the Beef
  1. In a large skillet or wok, heat 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil over medium-high heat.
  2. Once hot, add the marinated beef in a single layer and season it with salt and pepper.
  3. Sear until browned, about 2-3 minutes, then remove from pan and set aside.
Cooking the Broccoli
  1. In the same skillet, add another tablespoon of vegetable oil.
  2. Toss in the minced garlic and ginger, and sauté for about 30 seconds until fragrant.
  3. Add the broccoli florets and stir-fry for about 2 minutes until they turn bright green but remain crisp.
Combine Ingredients
  1. Return the beef to the skillet and pour in the beef broth, oyster sauce, and remaining soy sauce.
  2. Stir everything together and allow the sauce to simmer for another 2-3 minutes until it thickens slightly.
Serving
  1. Serve your Easy Beef & Broccoli over cooked rice.

Notes

Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days. Reheat in a skillet to preserve flavors or in the microwave for a quick fix. Can be frozen for up to a month.
