  • 1/3 cup melted butter
  • 1 cup sugar You can reduce to 3/4 cup for less sweetness.
  • 1 large egg (beaten)
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • a pinch salt
  • 1 ½ cups all-purpose flour

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C), ensuring it’s ready for that delicious loaf.
  2. In a mixing bowl, mash the ripe bananas with a fork until smooth. Mix in the melted butter until blended.
  3. Stir in the sugar, beaten egg, and vanilla extract until well combined.
  4. Sprinkle the baking soda and salt over the mixture, then add the flour. Gently mix until just combined; be careful not to overmix.
  5. Pour the batter into a greased 4×8-inch loaf pan and spread evenly.
Baking
  1. Bake for about 50-60 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  2. Let the banana bread cool in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring it to a wire rack. Slice and enjoy your homemade delight!

Notes

For best results, use overripe bananas, avoid overmixing the batter, and let the bread rest before slicing. To store, wrap tightly and keep at room temperature for up to 3 days, or freeze for up to 3 months.
