  • 1 cup ricotta cheese
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese Reserve 1 1/2 cups for filling and sprinkle remaining on top.
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 pound ground beef or halal Italian sausage Ensure the ground meat is halal-certified.
  • 2 cups marinara sauce
  • 1 large egg
  • 1-2 tablespoons olive oil Used for brushing before air frying.
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • to taste Salt and pepper Adjust according to preference.

Method

Preparation
  1. Cook the lasagna noodles in a large pot of salted water according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine ricotta cheese, 1 1/2 cups of mozzarella, Parmesan cheese, egg, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper. Mix well until combined.
  3. In a skillet, cook the ground beef or Italian sausage over medium heat until browned (about 5-7 minutes). Drain excess grease, if necessary, then mix with marinara sauce.
Assembly
  1. Lay a cooked noodle flat, spread a layer of the ricotta mixture on top, add a spoonful of the meat sauce, and place another noodle on top. Repeat until all noodles are used, ending with the ricotta mixture on top.
  2. Brush the top with a little olive oil and sprinkle with remaining mozzarella cheese.
Cooking
  1. Preheat your air fryer to 375°F (190°C). Carefully place the assembled lasagna in the air fryer basket and cook for 12-15 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and crispy.
  2. Let it cool for a few minutes before slicing. You can sprinkle some fresh basil on top for added flavor.

Notes

For a vegetarian option, substitute ground meat with a mix of zucchini, mushrooms, or spinach. Cooking times may vary, so check a few minutes early. Ensure noodles are not overcrowded in the air fryer.
