Preparation
- In a medium mixing bowl, combine the all-purpose flour, granulated sugar, baking powder, salt, and ground cinnamon. Whisk until everything is evenly mixed.
- In another bowl, whisk together the milk, egg, melted butter, and vanilla extract until well combined.
- Gradually add the wet mixture to the dry ingredients, stirring until a soft dough forms. Be careful not to overmix; just combine until there are no dry spots.
- Lightly flour your countertop and turn out the dough. Pat it down gently, about 1/2 inch thick. Use a donut cutter or two round cookie cutters (one larger for the outer ring and one smaller for the inner hole) to cut out donut shapes.
Cooking
- Preheat your air fryer to 350°F (175°C). Lightly grease the air fryer basket with a non-stick spray or oil.
- Arrange the donuts in a single layer in the air fryer basket, ensuring they do not touch. Air fry for 5-7 minutes, or until they are golden brown.
- Once done, remove the donuts carefully and allow them to cool slightly before dusting with powdered sugar, if desired. Serve warm and enjoy!
Notes
For a healthier version, use whole wheat flour. Store leftovers in an airtight container at room temperature for up to two days or freeze for up to a month. Reheat in the air fryer for 3-4 minutes.
