Ingredients

Main Ingredients
  • 1 cup Greek yogurt (plain, non-fat or full-fat) Use plain yogurt for best results.
  • 1 cup self-rising flour You can substitute with whole wheat or gluten-free flour.
  • 1 large egg (for egg wash) Can be substituted with a flax egg for vegan option.

Method

Preparation
  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a large bowl, combine the Greek yogurt and self-rising flour. Stir until a dough forms. It may be slightly sticky, but that’s okay!
  3. Lightly flour your working surface and turn the dough out. Knead it gently for about 1-2 minutes until it’s smooth.
  4. Divide the dough into 4 equal pieces. Roll each piece into a log, then bring the ends together to shape it into a bagel.
  5. Beat the egg in a small bowl and brush it over the bagels.
  6. Place your bagels on the prepared baking sheet and bake for 20-25 minutes until they are beautifully golden.
  7. Let them cool slightly before digging in!

Notes

Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for 3-4 days. For longer storage, freeze in a freezer-safe container. Reheat in the oven at 350°F (175°C) for 5-7 minutes.
