  • 1 lb ground beef (Halal)
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1 piece egg
  • 1 cup marinara sauce (check for Halal certification)
  • 1 cup mozzarella cheese, shredded
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine ground beef, breadcrumbs, egg, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper. Mix until just combined.
  3. Shape the mixture into meatballs about one inch in size and place them in a baking dish.
  4. Pour the marinara sauce evenly over the meatballs.
  5. Sprinkle the shredded mozzarella cheese on top.
Cooking
  1. Cover with aluminum foil and bake for 25 minutes.
  2. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 10-15 minutes until cheese is bubbly and golden.
  3. Let cool for a few minutes before serving. Garnish with fresh herbs if desired.

Notes

This casserole can be customized with various toppings and stored in the fridge for 3-4 days or frozen for up to 2 months. Reheat in the oven covered with foil for best results.
