Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Grease a 9x13-inch baking dish or line it with parchment paper.
  3. Melt butter in a saucepan over low heat until fully liquid, then remove from heat.
  4. Stir sugar into the melted butter until combined.
  5. Beat in eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Add vanilla extract.
  6. In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, cocoa powder, salt, and baking powder. Gradually add this mixture to the wet ingredients, stirring until fully combined.
  7. Fold in chocolate chips if desired.
Baking
  1. Pour the batter into the prepared baking dish and smooth it out.
  2. Bake in the preheated oven for 30 to 35 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out with moist crumbs.
Cooling
  1. Allow the brownies to cool in the pan for at least 10 minutes.
  2. Remove and place them on a wire rack to cool completely before cutting.
