  • 1 can (15 ounces) chili beans Choose spicy or mild based on preference.
  • 1 can (10 ounces) diced tomatoes with green chilies Adds spice and flavor.
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese Use sharp cheddar for more flavor.

  • 1 cup diced tomatoes For topping.

Method

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a skillet, brown the ground beef over medium heat until fully cooked. Drain any excess fat.
  3. Stir in the chili beans, diced tomatoes with green chilies, and taco seasoning. Let it simmer for about 5 minutes.
Layering and Baking
  1. In a baking dish, layer half of the Doritos at the bottom.
  2. Spread half of the cooked beef mixture over the chips, followed by half of the shredded cheddar cheese.
  3. Repeat the layering process with the remaining Doritos, beef mixture, and cheese.
  4. Top the casserole with sour cream and the rest of the cheese.
  5. Place the casserole in the preheated oven and bake for 20-25 minutes or until it's hot and bubbling.
  6. Remove from the oven and let it cool for a few minutes. Then, garnish with shredded lettuce and diced tomatoes before serving.

Notes

For variations, try using ground turkey or chicken instead of beef, or add black beans for extra fiber. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days or freeze for up to a month.
