Ingredients

Main ingredients
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1/4 cup chopped onion
  • 1/4 cup ketchup
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 2 pieces eggs
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce

Method

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, breadcrumbs, milk, chopped onion, ketchup, brown sugar, eggs, salt, black pepper, and Worcestershire sauce. Mix everything until it’s evenly incorporated.
  3. Transfer the mixture to a lightly greased loaf pan, shaping it into a loaf.
Baking
  1. Place the loaf pan in the oven and bake for about 1 hour, or until the meatloaf reaches an internal temperature of 160°F (70°C).
  2. Optionally, brush ketchup or a mix of ketchup and brown sugar on top during the last 15 minutes of baking.
Serving
  1. Let your meatloaf rest for about 10 minutes before slicing to allow the juices to redistribute.

Notes

To add a twist, consider adding diced bell peppers or mushrooms. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3-4 days, or freeze for up to 3 months. Reheat gently in the oven for best results.
