Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, breadcrumbs, milk, chopped onion, ketchup, brown sugar, eggs, salt, black pepper, and Worcestershire sauce. Mix everything until it’s evenly incorporated.
- Transfer the mixture to a lightly greased loaf pan, shaping it into a loaf.
Baking
- Place the loaf pan in the oven and bake for about 1 hour, or until the meatloaf reaches an internal temperature of 160°F (70°C).
- Optionally, brush ketchup or a mix of ketchup and brown sugar on top during the last 15 minutes of baking.
Serving
- Let your meatloaf rest for about 10 minutes before slicing to allow the juices to redistribute.
Notes
To add a twist, consider adding diced bell peppers or mushrooms. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3-4 days, or freeze for up to 3 months. Reheat gently in the oven for best results.
