Ingredients

Vegetables
  • 1 medium head cabbage, finely shredded
  • 2 large carrots, finely shredded
Dressing
  • 1 cup mayonnaise
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 3 tablespoons vinegar
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon pepper

Method

Preparation
  1. Start by finely shredding the cabbage and carrots. You can use a food processor for quicker preparation or do it by hand for a more rustic approach.
  2. In a separate bowl, combine the mayonnaise, sugar, vinegar, salt, and pepper. Whisk together until smooth and creamy.
  3. In a large mixing bowl, add the shredded cabbage and carrots. Pour the dressing over the vegetables and mix thoroughly until everything is well-coated with the dressing.
  4. Cover the bowl and let the coleslaw chill in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes to allow the flavors to meld beautifully. Give it a good stir before serving.

Notes

For best results, allow the coleslaw to sit in the fridge for an hour before serving to improve the flavor depth. Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days, keeping the dressing separate if made ahead of time.
