When it comes to dips and snacks, the Dill Pickle Cheese Ball is a creamy, flavorful, and tangy delight that steals the show at gatherings! Picture this: a luscious ball of softened cream cheese loaded with sharp cheddar, tangy dill pickles, and a sprinkle of fresh dill.
- 16 ounces Cream Cheese - softened
- 4 Tablespoons Sour Cream
- 1/2 teaspoon Garlic Powder
- 1 teaspoon Lemon Juice
- Salt/Pepper - to taste
- 1 Cup Shredded Cheddar Cheese
- 1 1/2 Cups Chopped Dill Pickles
- 2 Tablespoons Fresh Chopped Dill
- 1/2 Cup Shredded/Chopped Cheddar Cheese for rolling
- 1 Tablespoon Fresh Chopped Dill for rolling
- 1 teaspoon Lemon Zest
Preparation of the Mixture: In a large mixing bowl, combine the softened cream cheese, sour cream, garlic powder, lemon juice, salt, and pepper. Use a hand mixer to blend until the mixture is smooth and fluffy, about 1-2 minutes.
Incorporate Cheese and Pickles: Mix in the shredded cheddar cheese, chopped dill pickles, and fresh dill into the cream cheese mixture. Ensure everything is well combined for maximum flavor!
Form the Cheese Ball: Lay two long strips of plastic wrap in an ‘X’ shape on your countertop. Spoon the cream cheese mixture into the center of the wrap. Gather the edges of the wrap, bringing them together at the top to create a ball shape. Tighten the wrap and chill in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours.
Apply Toppings: After chilling, spread the shredded/chopped cheddar, fresh dill, and lemon zest on a flat surface. Unwrap the chilled cheese ball and roll it in the toppings, pressing gently to ensure even coverage.
Serve & Enjoy: Transfer the cheese ball to a platter and serve it alongside your favorite crackers. Enjoy the delightful blend of creamy and tangy flavors!
