For the Sandwich
  • 3 slices slices of bread (your choice: white, whole grain, or sourdough)
  • 6 ounces cooked chicken or turkey (sliced)
  • 2-3 slices cheese (cheddar or Swiss work great)
  • 2-3 slices tomato
  • Lettuce leaves (romaine or iceberg for crispness)
  • Mayonnaise (for spreading)
  • Salt and pepper (to taste)
  • 1/2 avocado (optional, for an extra creamy texture)
  • French fries (for serving on the side)

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Toast the bread slices to achieve a golden-brown finish.
  2. On the first slice of toasted bread, spread a generous layer of mayonnaise.
  3. Layer with lettuce, followed by slices of chicken or turkey, tomatoes, and cheese. Season lightly with salt and pepper if desired.
  4. Top with the second slice of bread, spreading mayonnaise on one side before placing it on the sandwich.
  5. On the second layer, add more lettuce, your choice of additional ingredients, and finish with the final slice of bread.
  6. Secure the sandwich with toothpicks if needed, slice it into quarters, and serve with a side of crispy fries.

Notes

Store any leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. For reheating, use a preheated oven to maintain the sandwich's crunchy texture.
