Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a large mixing bowl, mash the ripe bananas with a fork until smooth.
- Add your nut butter to the mashed bananas and mix until fully combined.
- Slowly fold in the cocoa powder until the mixture is smooth.
- Grease an 8x8 inch square baking pan or line it with parchment paper.
- Spread the brownie mixture evenly in the prepared baking pan.
- Bake for approximately 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out mostly clean.
- Remove from the oven and let it cool in the pan for about 10 minutes; then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely before cutting into squares.
Notes
For nut butter alternatives, consider sunflower seed butter or tahini. Ensure your bananas are very ripe for the best texture and sweetness. Store leftovers in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days, or refrigerate for up to a week. For longer storage, freeze for up to 3 months. Reheat in the microwave for 10-15 seconds if desired.
