Preparation
- Start by cutting your brownies into small cubes. If making brownies from scratch, allow them to cool completely before cutting.
Layering the Trifle
- In a large glass trifle bowl or individual dessert cups, start by adding a layer of brownie cubes at the bottom.
- Drizzle a generous amount of caramel sauce over the brownie layer.
- Spoon a thick layer of whipped cream over the caramel. You can add it as a flat layer or dollop it for a textured finish.
- Continue layering in the following order until you reach the top of the bowl: brownie cubes, caramel sauce, and whipped cream. Aim for at least three layers for the best presentation.
- Drizzle chocolate syrup on top and sprinkle with chopped nuts and chocolate shavings if using.
- Cover gently with plastic wrap and let it chill in the refrigerator for about 30 minutes before serving.
Notes
For gluten-free, use gluten-free brownies. Store leftovers covered in the fridge and consume within 3 days for best texture. Assemble components separately for freezing. Avoid overmixing whipped cream.
