Ingredients

Main Ingredients
  • 1 cup pitted dates
  • 0.5 cup walnuts (or any nut of your preference)
  • 0.5 cup cocoa powder
  • 0.25 cup almond flour Can substitute with oat flour for a different texture.
  • 0.25 cup maple syrup
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 0.5 tsp baking powder
  • 1 pinch salt

Method

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line an 8x8 inch baking pan with parchment paper for easy removal.
  2. In a food processor, add the pitted dates and walnuts, pulse until they’re finely chopped and mixed well.
  3. Add the cocoa powder, almond flour, maple syrup, vanilla extract, baking powder, and salt. Process until everything is combined into a thick batter.
  4. Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan and spread it evenly using a spatula.
  5. Place the pan in the oven and bake for about 20-25 minutes. The brownies should be set and slightly firm to the touch.
  6. Once baked, let the brownies cool in the pan for about 10 minutes, then transfer them onto a cooling rack. Once cool, cut them into squares.

Notes

Experiment with different nuts and toppings for customization. Store in an airtight container for up to 5 days at room temperature or refrigerate for up to a week. Freeze for about 3 months for longer storage.
