  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
Wet Ingredients

  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Grease an 8-inch square baking dish with butter or line it with parchment paper.
  3. In a large mixing bowl, combine rolled oats, flour, brown sugar, baking soda, and salt. Stir until well mixed.
  4. Melt the butter and let it cool slightly. Pour the melted butter and chopped dates into the bowl, mixing until fully incorporated.
  5. Add vanilla extract to the mixture and stir well.
  6. Pour the mixture into the prepared baking dish, spreading it out evenly.
Baking
  1. Place the dish in the oven and bake for about 25 minutes, or until the edges are golden brown.
Cooling and Serving
  1. Let the bars cool in the pan before cutting them into squares to serve.
