Ingredients

Main Ingredients
  • 1 crust pre-made pie crust (store-bought or homemade)
  • 1 cup dark chocolate, melted
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt

Method

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. If using a pre-made pie crust, allow it to sit at room temperature for about 10 minutes before placing it in a pie dish.
  3. In a microwave-safe bowl, melt the dark chocolate in increments of 30 seconds, stirring after each until smooth. Let cool slightly.
  4. In a large bowl, whisk together the sugar, cocoa powder, and salt until evenly combined.
  5. Add the melted chocolate to the dry mixture, and mix until fully combined.
  6. In a separate bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, and vanilla extract. Gradually add this mixture to the chocolate mixture, stirring well until it’s smooth.
  7. Pour the chocolate filling into the prepared pie crust.
Baking
  1. Bake in the preheated oven for 30-35 minutes, or until the pie is set but still slightly wobbly in the center.
  2. Allow the pie to cool completely before slicing.
Serving
  1. Enjoy the pie warm, at room temperature, or chilled.

Notes

For a less intense chocolate flavor, substitute semi-sweet chocolate for dark chocolate. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to five days or freeze slices for up to three months. Reheat in the microwave for 10-15 seconds to enjoy the fudgy filling.
