Ingredients

Main ingredients
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1.5 cups brown sugar, packed
  • 0.5 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 0.5 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup dark chocolate chunks

Method

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large mixing bowl, beat the softened butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar together until creamy. Add the eggs one at a time, followed by the vanilla extract. Mix until smooth.
  3. In another bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, baking soda, and salt. Slowly incorporate the dry ingredients into the wet mixture until just combined.
  4. Gently fold in the dark chocolate chunks.
  5. Using a cookie scoop or tablespoon, drop rounded balls of dough onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper, leaving space in between.
Baking
  1. Bake in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes or until the edges are golden brown.
  2. Allow the cookies to cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

For added flavor, consider adding sea salt on top or a sprinkling of chopped nuts. To refine further, chill the dough for 30 minutes before baking.
