Main Ingredients
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened Make sure it's at room temperature but not melted.
  • 2/3 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour Use the spoon and level method or a scale to measure.
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt

Method

Preparation

  2. In a mixing bowl, combine the softened unsalted butter and powdered sugar. Beat until light and fluffy (about 3-5 minutes).
  3. Add the vanilla extract and mix until well incorporated.
  4. In a separate bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour and salt. Gradually add this mixture to the wet ingredients, blending until just combined.
  5. Using a cookie press or piping bag, pipe your desired shapes onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper, keeping them about 2 inches apart.
Baking
  1. Bake in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes, or until lightly golden around the edges.
  2. Remove from the oven and let them cool on the baking sheet for about 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

For best results: Ensure butter is at room temperature; measure flour properly; consider adding almond extract or mixing in chocolate chips or nuts for variation. Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to one week, or freeze for up to three months.
