  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a mixing bowl, cream the softened butter and sugar together until light and fluffy.
  3. Stir in the vanilla extract, mixing until well combined.
  4. In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour and salt.
  5. Gradually add the flour mixture to the butter mixture, stirring until just combined. Make sure not to overmix!
  6. Using a piping bag or cookie scoop, form the cookie dough into your desired shapes on the prepared baking sheet.
  7. Add sprinkles or chocolate chips for decoration if desired.
  8. Bake for 12-15 minutes or until the edges are lightly golden.

Notes

Use room temperature butter for easier mixing. Don’t overmix once you add the flour to keep the cookies tender. Store cookies in an airtight container to maintain freshness.
