Preparation
- Start by washing the cucumber. Slice it thinly (about 1/8 inch) using a sharp knife.
- In a small bowl, combine softened cream cheese with chopped dill. Add a pinch of salt and pepper to taste.
Assembly
- Spread a generous layer of the cream cheese mixture on one side of each slice of bread.
- Place the cucumber slices evenly on top of half of the bread slices.
- Top with the remaining slices of bread, cream cheese side down. Press gently to seal.
Serving
- Using a sharp knife, cut each sandwich into quarters or halves, depending on your preference.
- Arrange them on a platter and serve immediately.
Notes
For a dairy-free version, substitute cream cheese with a plant-based alternative. Store the sandwiches separately to maintain freshness; cucumbers lose crispness if left too long.
