Ingredients

Main Ingredients
  • 1 large cucumber Wash and slice thinly
  • 8 slices sandwich bread (whole wheat or white) Use fresh bread for best texture
  • 4 oz. cream cheese, softened For the creamy spread
  • 1 tablespoon fresh dill, chopped Substitute with chives or parsley if desired
  • Salt and pepper to taste For seasoning

Method

Preparation
  1. Start by washing the cucumber. Slice it thinly (about 1/8 inch) using a sharp knife.
  2. In a small bowl, combine softened cream cheese with chopped dill. Add a pinch of salt and pepper to taste.
Assembly
  1. Spread a generous layer of the cream cheese mixture on one side of each slice of bread.
  2. Place the cucumber slices evenly on top of half of the bread slices.
  3. Top with the remaining slices of bread, cream cheese side down. Press gently to seal.
Serving
  1. Using a sharp knife, cut each sandwich into quarters or halves, depending on your preference.
  2. Arrange them on a platter and serve immediately.

Notes

For a dairy-free version, substitute cream cheese with a plant-based alternative. Store the sandwiches separately to maintain freshness; cucumbers lose crispness if left too long.
