  • 250 g kataifi (shredded phyllo dough)
  • 200 g unsalted butter, melted Use to coat the kataifi
  • 250 g dark chocolate, chopped
  • 100 g sugar
  • 100 ml milk
  • 1 pinch salt

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 180°C (350°F).
  2. Gently loosen the kataifi dough with your fingers to separate the strands.
  3. In a large bowl, pour the melted butter over the kataifi and mix thoroughly until well-coated.
  4. Spread half of the kataifi mixture evenly in the bottom of a greased baking dish.
Cooking
  1. In a saucepan over low heat, combine the dark chocolate, sugar, milk, and a pinch of salt. Stir until melted and smooth.
  2. Pour the chocolate mixture over the kataifi base, spreading it out evenly. Top with the remaining kataifi and press down gently.
  3. Bake for about 25 to 30 minutes or until golden and crispy.
Serving
  1. Allow to cool for a few minutes before cutting into bars. Serve warm or at room temperature.
  2. Garnish with optional toppings like chopped nuts or dried fruits.

Notes

To ensure a rich flavor and crispy texture, don't skimp on butter. Cool completely before serving for cleaner cuts.
