Ingredients

Main Ingredients
  • 4 slices slices of bread (preferably thick-cut for best results) Challah or brioche works well for texture.
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup Fruity Pebbles cereal Can substitute with other crunchy cereals.
  • Butter (for frying) For frying the French toast.
  • Maple syrup (optional) For serving.

Method

Preparation
  1. In a shallow mixing bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, and vanilla extract until well combined.
  2. Take each slice of bread and dip it into the egg mixture, ensuring both sides are well-coated. Let any excess egg drip off.
  3. Immediately press each slice into the Fruity Pebbles, coating both sides generously.
Cooking
  1. On medium heat, melt a tablespoon of butter in a skillet or frying pan.
  2. Place the prepared slices into the skillet and fry for about 3-4 minutes, or until they turn a lovely golden-brown.
  3. Flip and cook the other side for another 2-3 minutes.
Serving
  1. Remove from the pan and serve warm. Drizzle with maple syrup or add your favorite toppings to enhance the flavor.

Notes

Store any leftover Crunchy French Toast in the refrigerator for up to 3 days, tightly wrapped or in an airtight container. For longer storage, freeze for up to 2 months. Reheat in a preheated oven or toaster for crunchiness.
