Ingredients

Fruit and Essentials
  • 10-12 pieces Fresh strawberries or fruits of your choice Opt for fruits with moisture that hold shape, like grapes or small oranges.
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 10-12 pieces Bamboo skewers

Method

Preparation
  1. Begin by washing your strawberries (or chosen fruits) under cold water to remove any dirt. Pat them dry with a paper towel.
  2. If using larger fruits like apples or oranges, cut them into bite-sized pieces and place them on bamboo skewers.
Making the Sugar Syrup
  1. In a medium-sized saucepan, combine the granulated sugar and water. Stir over medium heat until the sugar dissolves.
  2. Stop stirring and let it come to a gentle boil. Cook until the syrup turns a light golden color, about 5-7 minutes.
  3. Keep an eye on it to avoid burning!
Coating the Fruit
  1. Once the syrup reaches a golden color, remove it from the heat and let it cool for a minute.
  2. Quickly dip each skewer of fruit into the syrup, making sure the fruit is fully coated.
Cooling and Serving
  1. Place the coated fruit skewers on a parchment-lined tray to cool. The candy will harden as it cools.
  2. Serve immediately for the best texture.
