  • 4 cups stale sourdough bread, cut into cubes Use stale bread for best results.
  • 1/2 cup olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon dried Italian herbs Or your favorite herbs.
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Optional Parmesan cheese, grated For a cheesy twist.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Cut stale sourdough into even cubes, about 1 inch in size.
  3. In a large bowl, combine the cubed sourdough with olive oil, garlic powder, dried herbs, salt, and pepper. Toss until each cube is coated.
  4. Spread the seasoned bread cubes in a single layer on a baking sheet.
  5. Bake for 10-15 minutes or until golden brown, stirring halfway through.
  6. Remove from oven and let cool completely on the baking sheet.

Notes

Store in an airtight container for up to a week or freeze for future use. Reheat in a toaster oven or bake at 300°F until crisp.
