Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Thoroughly rinse the pork skin under cold water and pat it dry with paper towels.
- Cut the pork skin into manageable squares or rectangles, about 1-2 inches in size.
- In a mixing bowl, combine the salt with any desired seasonings, like garlic powder or cayenne pepper. Toss the pieces of pork skin in the seasonings until thoroughly coated.
Cooking
- Place the seasoned pork skin on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Bake in the preheated oven for about 30-40 minutes or until they begin to puff up and turn crispy.
- If you want extra crunch, heat oil in a deep fryer or a large pot. Carefully add the baked pork rinds to the hot oil and fry in batches until they are golden brown and crispy.
- Using a slotted spoon, remove the rinds from the oil and place them on paper towels to drain excess oil. Allow to cool completely before serving.
Notes
For the best results, monitor frying time closely and always use fresh pork skin. Store any leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3 days.
