  • 1 pound ground beef Make sure it's Halal-compliant.
  • 2 cups cooked rice Prepare according to package directions.
  • 2 tablespoons gochujang Korean chili paste.
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
  • 2 pieces green onions Sliced, for garnish.
  • 1 tablespoon garlic Minced.
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Cook 2 cups of rice according to package directions and set aside.
  2. In a large skillet, heat 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil over medium-high heat.
  3. Add the ground beef and cook until browned and crispy, about 8-10 minutes. Drain excess fat if necessary.
  4. Stir in the minced garlic and cook for an additional 1-2 minutes until fragrant.
  5. Add salt, pepper, soy sauce, and sesame oil, mixing well to combine.
  6. In a saucepan, combine the beef broth and gochujang. Heat over low until warm, stirring occasionally. Allow it to simmer for about 5 minutes.
Assembly and Serving
  1. In serving bowls, place cooked rice as the base.
  2. Top with the crispy ground beef and drizzle the creamy gochujang broth over the top.
  3. Garnish with sliced green onions and serve immediately.

Notes

For substitutions, ground chicken or turkey works beautifully and keeps the dish Halal-friendly. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. To reheat, cover with a damp paper towel and heat in short bursts to maintain crispy texture.
