Preparation
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Line your baking sheets with parchment paper.
- In a bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, and salt until well combined.
- In a separate bowl, cream together softened butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar using an electric mixer on medium speed until light and fluffy.
- Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract until fully incorporated.
Mixing
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, mixing just until combined. Avoid over-mixing; the dough can be slightly lumpy.
- Fold in the semi-sweet chocolate chips until evenly distributed.
Baking
- Using a cookie scoop or spoon, drop rounded tablespoons of dough onto the prepared baking sheets, leaving space between each cookie.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are golden brown while the centers look slightly underbaked.
- Allow the cookies to cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.
Notes
For a different flavor, experiment with nuts, sea salt, or coconut flakes. Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to one week or freeze for longer storage.
