Ingredients
  

Main ingredients
  • 1 block firm or extra-firm tofu Choose the right tofu for best results.
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce or tamari
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch Essential for achieving crunch.
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • to taste Salt and pepper
  • optional sesame oil, chili flakes, or favorite spices For extra flavor.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Press the tofu by wrapping it in a clean kitchen towel or paper towels and placing a heavy object on top for about 15-20 minutes.
  2. Cut the pressed tofu into cubes or triangles and place them in a bowl. Pour in the soy sauce and gently toss to coat.
  3. Sprinkle cornstarch, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper over the tofu. Mix until all pieces are evenly coated.
  4. Preheat the air fryer to 375°F (190°C) for about 5 minutes.
Cooking
  1. Arrange the tofu in a single layer in the air fryer basket. You might need to do this in batches to avoid overcrowding.
  2. Air fry for 12-15 minutes, shaking the basket halfway through for even cooking.
  3. Remove the tofu from the air fryer and let it cool for a few minutes before serving.
Serving
  1. Serve warm with your favorite dipping sauce or in a salad.

Notes

Best served fresh, but can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3-4 days. Reheat in air fryer for 5-7 minutes at 375°F (190°C). Can freeze for up to 3 months.
