Preparation
- Press the tofu by wrapping it in a clean kitchen towel or paper towels and placing a heavy object on top for about 15-20 minutes.
- Cut the pressed tofu into cubes or triangles and place them in a bowl. Pour in the soy sauce and gently toss to coat.
- Sprinkle cornstarch, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper over the tofu. Mix until all pieces are evenly coated.
- Preheat the air fryer to 375°F (190°C) for about 5 minutes.
Cooking
- Arrange the tofu in a single layer in the air fryer basket. You might need to do this in batches to avoid overcrowding.
- Air fry for 12-15 minutes, shaking the basket halfway through for even cooking.
- Remove the tofu from the air fryer and let it cool for a few minutes before serving.
Serving
- Serve warm with your favorite dipping sauce or in a salad.
Notes
Best served fresh, but can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3-4 days. Reheat in air fryer for 5-7 minutes at 375°F (190°C). Can freeze for up to 3 months.
