Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Core the apples and cut them into 8 wedges each.
- Take a crescent roll triangle, place one apple wedge on the wide end, sprinkle with cinnamon, then roll the dough tightly around the apple. Place the wrapped apple in a greased 9×13-inch baking dish, and repeat until all apples are wrapped.
Making the Syrup
- In a saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat. Stir in the brown sugar and allow it to dissolve until it becomes a smooth syrup.
- Pour the syrup evenly over the wrapped dumplings in the baking dish. Finally, pour the Mountain Dew around the edges.
Baking
- Bake the dish in the preheated oven for 30-35 minutes, or until the rolls are golden brown and the sauce is bubbling.
- Let cool slightly before serving. Drizzle extra syrup on the dumplings for added sweetness!
Notes
Serve with a scoop of vanilla ice cream or warm spiced cider for a delightful dessert experience. Leftover dumplings can be stored in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days. Reheat in the microwave or oven.
