Creamy Baked Macaroni and Cheese: A Comfort Food Classic

  • 1 lb Elbow macaroni
  • 1 lb Velveeta cheese cubed
  • 1 cup Milk divided
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Optional toppings breadcrumbs or shredded cheese

Instructions
 

  • Preheat the Oven: Start by preheating your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • Cook the Macaroni: Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the elbow macaroni and cook until al dente. Drain and set aside.
  • Make the Cheese Sauce: In a large saucepan, melt the cubed Velveeta cheese over medium heat, stirring constantly until smooth. Gradually mix in half of the milk.
  • Combine: Add the cooked macaroni to the cheese sauce, mixing until fully incorporated. If you desire a creamier texture, gradually add the remaining milk and season with salt and pepper.
  • Transfer and Bake: Pour the macaroni mixture into a greased baking dish. Optionally, sprinkle breadcrumbs or shredded cheese on top. Bake for 20-25 minutes or until bubbly and golden.
  • Serve: Allow to cool for a few minutes, then serve hot and enjoy the cheesy goodness!
