Ingredients

  • - 2 green onions finely chopped
  • - 1 clove garlic minced (optional)
  • - 1 tsp soy sauce optional
  • - ½ tsp sugar
  • - 30-40 wonton wrappers
  • - 1 egg beaten (for sealing wrappers)
  • - Oil for frying vegetable or canola

Instructions
 

  • **1. Prepare the Filling:**
  • - In a mixing bowl, combine cream cheese, green onions, garlic, soy sauce, and sugar. Mix until smooth and well blended.
  • **2. Assemble the Wontons:**
  • - Lay a wonton wrapper flat on a clean surface. Place about 1 teaspoon of the cream cheese mixture in the center.
  • - Brush the edges of the wrapper with beaten egg. Fold the wrapper into a triangle or bring all corners together to form a pouch, pressing to seal tightly. Repeat with remaining wrappers and filling.
  • **3. Fry the Wontons:**
  • - Heat about 2 inches of oil in a frying pan or deep fryer to 350°F (175°C).
  • - Fry the wontons in small batches for 2-3 minutes, turning occasionally, until golden brown and crispy.
  • - Remove with a slotted spoon and place on paper towels to drain excess oil.
