  • 2 cups boiling water Needed to dissolve the gelatin.
  • 1 package (6 oz) cranberry-flavored gelatin
  • 1 cup fresh or canned cranberry sauce (preferably not sweetened)
  • 1 cup chopped apples (any sweet variety)
  • 1 cup walnuts, chopped Can substitute with pecans if preferred.
  • 1/2 cup sugar (optional) Based on your sweetness preference.
  • 1 cup whipped topping or cream (for garnish, optional)

Preparation
  1. In a large mixing bowl, dissolve the cranberry-flavored gelatin in 2 cups of boiling water. Stir well until completely dissolved.
  2. Stir in the cranberry sauce until fully blended for an even flavor.
  3. Fold in the chopped apples and walnuts carefully to avoid breaking the fruit.
  4. Pour the mixture into a 9-inch pie dish or similar serving container. Cover and refrigerate for at least 4 hours or until firm.
  5. Once set, cut into squares or serve as is. Top with whipped topping if desired.

Notes

For best results, make this a day ahead of your gathering. Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 5 days, but avoid freezing as it alters the texture.
