Ingredients

Main ingredients
  • 1 sheet puff pastry (thawed)
  • 1 small wheel Camembert cheese Opt for high-quality cheese for the best flavor.
  • ¼ cup cranberry sauce
  • ¼ cup chopped pistachios Roasted pistachios add a delightful crunch.
  • 1 large egg (beaten, for egg wash) Gives the pastry a beautiful golden color.
  • to taste fresh rosemary or thyme (for garnish, optional)

Method

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Roll out the puff pastry sheet on a lightly floured surface until it’s about ¼-inch thick.
  3. Use a sharp knife to cut an outline of a tree shape in the pastry. Don’t cut all the way through; this will be your guide.
  4. Place the wheel of Camembert in the center of your tree shape. Spoon cranberry sauce on top, followed by a sprinkle of chopped pistachios.
  5. Make cuts along the edges of the tree shape, about 1 inch apart, being careful not to cut through the center. These will become the 'branches' of your tree.
  6. Gently twist each branch slightly to create a layered effect that resembles a Christmas tree.
  7. Brush the entire pastry with the beaten egg to achieve a golden finish when baked.
Baking
  1. Place the pastry on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper and bake for 20 minutes, or until golden brown.
Serving
  1. Optionally, garnish with fresh herbs before presenting the delicious tree to your guests.
